Tellington TTouch consists of light,
non-invasive massage movements and guided walking
exercises that effect the body’s
nervous system, resulting in increased awareness and
range
of motion, tension and pain
reduction, and a repatterning of habitual ways of
holding the
body which can have a profound
influence on behavior and wellness. The TTouch method has been proven
effective for: • Dogs and cats who
are very mouthy, lack focus or don’t like to be
handled • Adolescent dogs who
are over stimulated, rambunctious and hard to
control on leash • Aggression issues
with people or other dogs and cats • Separation anxiety,
noise sensitivity and other fears and phobias • Service, show or
athletic dogs who underperform due to nervousness or
lack of confidence • Animals who are
recovering from injury or illness • Older dogs with
stiffness or pain from arthritis or hip dysplasia...
and much more
This workshop will be a hands-on
experiential introduction to the TTouch Bodywork,
tools
and confidence course. You will be

North Stonington Fair Grounds
Sunday October 9, 2005 We had 148 people and their dogs join us for a fun filled day at the North Stonington Fair Grounds for our second annual Client Appreciation Day.
The dogs didn't seem to mind the drizzle, they were too busy socializing in the big ring and learning new skills in the other rings. Many experienced dogs showed off their stuff on the Agility course, while novice dogs learned how to correctly negotiate the Agility equipment with the guidance of their owners and our instructors. In between the rain drops many dogs tried Rally Obedience, Michael showed them how to heel from one station to another performing an obedience behavior at each station. The 6 dogs that passed the Canine Good Citizen Test couldn't have cared less about the rain, their owners were so proud and so are we, congratulations. Laurie, our guest CGC evaluator from the Good Dog Spot in Bloomfield, was happy to have met and tested these well trained dogs. All proceeds from the CGC tests were donated to WAGS - the local therapy dog group. Kristie and her Doggie Dancing class got things warmed up with their fast paced musical dance demonstration. Kristie also taught some fun tricks and games, before we knew it dogs had learned to wave, spin, give high five, back up, roll over, speak, bow and sit pretty. Dr. Betsy Graham volunteered her time to implant microchips, 18 dogs took advantage, these dogs can now be safely returned home should they ever get lost. With all this activity we were sure glad to have Ken and Ray on the grill flipping burgers for the two--legged guests, they kept everyone warm and well fed. There was no lack of tasty treats for the four legged guests either with our friends from The Ruff House in attendance. They brought the best selection of biscuits and treats that were impossible to resist.
Deborah Lee and Nikki from Canine Water Sports showed us how much fun it can be to enjoy the water with your dog. They had videos, a slide show, and bunches fun merchandise and toys. Bob from B & G Karaoke said "rain, what rain" he kept us entertained by spinning tunes and announcing all the activities including the winners of the Basket Raffle. Our wonderful friends and local businesses out did themselves this year with their Basket Raffle donations. We received donations from Bravo Raw Diet, Foxwoods, I Am Dog (Bea DeGruttola), Mohegan Sun, The Ruff House, Bufords Restaurant, Dot and Ken Hazlin, Mystic Seaport, Citizens Bank, Tenagra Doberman Pinschers & Labrador Retrievers and My Dog's Place. Just over $300 was raised from the raffle and all the proceeds went to benefit the DJ Fund and PAWZ - a community based group for the prevention of dog bites. Thanks to all who joined us for the fun, we sure enjoyed your company on a drizzly Sunday afternoon. |
